About the Education & Outreach Team

Senior Management The Education and Outreach team oversees AIRA's educational resources and opportunities for the immunization information system (IIS) community. The team is responsible for a wide range of activities, including outreach planning, coordinating in-person events, such as the National Meeting (AIRA's annual conference), online trainings and interactive calls, developing and sharing educational resources, as well as managing communications and the AIRA website.

Education & Outreach Team

 

Carmela Gupta, MPH | Director of Education & Outreach

Carmela Gupta joined AIRA in September 2014 as the team's Senior Program Manager and became the Director of Education and Outreach in August 2022. Prior to this role, Carmela worked for the Idaho Immunization Program for five years, first as the School and Childcare Immunization Coordinator and later as the Immunization Outreach and Communication Manager. Carmela has experience with immunization policy, outreach and communication, conference planning, resource and curriculum development, graphic design, and immunization information system forecasting. 


 

Courtnay Londo, MA | Senior Program Manager

Courtnay Londo joined AIRA in August 2020 as the Program Manager for the Strategic Initiatives team. In December 2022, she became the Senior Program Manager for the Education and Outreach team. Courtnay began her work in immunizations in 2007 with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services where she served in various roles, including Flu Health Education Coordinator, Adolescent and Adult Immunization Coordinator, and School Wellness Program Coordinator. Courtnay has experience managing grants, leading coalitions, organizing communication campaigns, and collaborating with immunization stakeholders. 


 

Sarah Wible, MPH | Program Manager

Sarah Wible joined AIRA in April 2022 as the Informatics Coordinator with the IZ Gateway team. In June 2023, she became the Program Manager for the Education and Outreach team. Sarah began her work in immunizations in 2015 with the Kentucky Immunization Program, where she served in various roles, including Immunization Information System (IIS) Training Coordinator, IIS and School Assessment Epidemiologist, and IIS Manager. Sarah has experience in managing IIS operations, program planning, and stakeholder collaboration. Sarah started her role in the public health field as a regional prevention specialist, where she assisted with implementing effective prevention planning and programs for mental health and substance use and played an active role in collaboration between community coalitions.  


 

Gabriella Wagoner, MPH | Communications Specialist

Gabriella Wagoner joined AIRA in August 2022 as the Communications Specialist. Prior to this role, Gabriella worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a memory care facility and as an anesthesia technician in an operating room. Most recently, Gabriella interned for Global Environmental Health LAB, where she was responsible for stakeholder engagement, communications, and program management and operations.

 

Franchesca Benjamin | Program Assistant

Franchesca Benjamin joined AIRA in September 2022 as the Program Assistant for the Education and Outreach team. Prior to this role, Franchesca worked with pediatrics as a behavioral therapist, implementing customized plans and skill acquisition goals. Franchesca has experience providing support to healthcare professionals in both administrative and healthcare roles. 

 

Skylar Adkins | Administrative Assistant

Skylar Adkins joined AIRA in July 2023 as the Administrative Assistant for both the Education and Outreach and Human Resources teams. Prior to coming to AIRA, Skylar worked as an administrative assistant at a foster care agency, providing executive-level support to the CEO of the organization. Skylar has several years of experience working in administrative roles and over nine years of experience working with nonprofit organizations.
