Measurement for Assessment & Certification Advisory Workgroup (MACAW)

MACAW researches and formulates key immunization information system (IIS) assessment components, develops pilot metrics, and implements IIS assessment as part of the Measurement and Improvement (M&I) Initiative.
 

What

MACAW is charged with systematically researching and formulating key IIS assessment components, developing metrics, and implementing IIS assessment and Validation as part of the Measurement and Improvement (M&I) Initiative

Who

MACAW is made up of core subject matter experts from CDC, NIST, IIS and immunization programs, IIS vendors/implementers, and community partners. MACAW is supported by AIRA staff and facilitated by two co-chairs from the IIS community.

  • MACAW chair: Kevin Snow, Chief Architect, Envision Technology Partners, Inc.
  • MACAW co-chair: Valentin Sostaric, Immunization Data Systems Chief, Bureau of Immunization Services, Arizona Department of Health Services

The by-invitation group meets monthly and attends 1-2 in-person meetings a year to provide representative community input on the M&I Initiative.
