AIRA's CDS Supporting Data Now Available
|
AIRA is pleased to share that Supporting Data for influenza, RSV, and COVID-19 is now available to support implementation of the 2026–2027 fall respiratory vaccine recommendations.
The Supporting Data translates recommendations from national medical societies into structured information that IIS, vendors, and other health information systems can use to support clinical decision making.

A New Cybersecurity Resource Is Coming Soon: Register for the September Discovery Session to Learn More
|
Join us on Monday, September 28, at 4 p.m. ET for a first look at the 2026 Security Guidance for IIS. AIRA, in collaboration with CDC, is preparing to release this new resource, which complements the 2017 Security Guidance Considerations for Immunization Information Systems and offers practical, risk-informed guidance to help jurisdictions strengthen IIS security and resilience.
During this Discovery Session, we'll share why the resource was developed and how the IIS community helped shape it. We’ll also walk through the new guidance and companion tools, highlighting practical ways programs can use them to assess current practices, identify priorities, and support ongoing security improvements. No cybersecurity expertise is required.
Keeping IIS secure is a shared responsibility. Whether you manage an IIS, support program operations, work in IT, or work with IIS partners, this session will help you understand the new resource and how it can support your work. Stay for the Q&A to ask questions and learn more from the presenters.
|
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with calendar links for easy access. Can’t make it? A recording will be available in the AIRA Repository.
We hope you’ll join us on September 28!

Board Spotlight: Getting to Know Miriam Muscoplat
|
The Board Spotlight provides both AIRA staff and the IIS community the opportunity to learn a little about each AIRA Board member. This month, we’re getting to know Miriam Muscoplat, a valued member of the AIRA Board.
Coffee, tea, or something else entirely?
Coffee, all the time.
If you could eat only one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mexican (second place Jewish Cuisine).
Would you rather always know what’s coming next or be completely surprised by life’s twists?
Know what's coming next. I don't mind occasional surprises, but I like to know what to expect.
If you could automate one daily task, what would it be?
Driving my kids to all of their various activities.
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you haven’t done yet?
Travel to Greece (also on my husband's list).
Are there any new initiatives or projects your organization is currently working on that you’d be willing to share?
We are building a new IIS, including a governance structure to share the application. It's a lot of work, but it is really exciting.
|
What’s one key takeaway you’ve gained from participating in an AIRA workgroup or committee?
I've made so many connections over the years from my work on various AIRA workgroups and committees. I often use those connections to understand how other jurisdictions have solved a problem or are implementing something. This community is intelligent, thoughtful, creative, and dedicated to a common goal.
What’s one word or phrase that comes to mind when you think about the IIS community?
Dedicated.
