Prometheus Consent Forms Needed for Full NIST Transition

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Prometheus Computing, LLC are notifying jurisdictions of an upcoming transition affecting NIST Tooling. NIST's Health IT Program, which built, maintained, and hosted several immunization web application tools and services, is being sunset as part of an internal reorganization. These tools and services are migrating to Prometheus Computing, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and will continue to be supported through AIRA's CDC-funded cooperative agreement, pending notice of award.

Important Action Required

For a select number of tools, including IGAMT-2, TCAMT, and FITS, Prometheus Computing, needs your explicit consent before your user access and/or configuration data can be migrated. If consent isn't received by Friday, July 31, your user access and/or configuration data will not be transferred and will become inaccessible.

Timeline

  • June 24–July 31: Consent window open
  • July 31: Consent deadline
  • Mid-August: Migration to Prometheus Computing/AWS targeted for completion

Board Spotlight: Getting to Know Mike Berry

The Board Spotlight provides both AIRA staff and the IIS community the opportunity to learn a little about each AIRA Board member. This month, we’re getting to know Mike Berry, a valued member of the AIRA Board.

What was your favorite job in high school or college? Or, on the flip side, was there one that you were not fond of?

I was a waiter (and host, dishwasher, cook, and janitor!) at Bennigan's, a restaurant that doesn't exist anymore but was a lot of fun. My kids are very tired of hearing all my Bennigan's stories.

If you could spend one day in someone else’s shoes (real or fictional), who would it be?

Josh Kerr, who broke the world record for the fastest mile on July 18. I love running and would love to be able to run that fast even for one day.

Coffee, tea, or something else entirely?

Coffee, 100%.

If you could eat only one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Chinese food.

Would you rather always know what’s coming next or be completely surprised by life’s twists?

I definitely do not want to know what's coming next!

What’s one thing on your bucket list that you haven’t done yet?

Stargazing in the Atacama Desert in Chile.

If you could take a year off to learn something new, what would you study?

My kids are into acting and singing -- things I never did growing up. Now that I'm exposed to that world, I think it would be amazing to take a year off and try it.

What’s your favorite part of being on the AIRA Board? For those who are newer to the Board, what has been a highlight or something that has stood out to you so far?

My favorite part of being on the AIRA Board is working with and getting to know the other board members and AIRA staff, especially when we get to meet in person. It's an incredible group of dedicated people who are great at what they do!

Catch the Recording: Docket Webinar | Docket® For Schools: Super Smart School Immunization Reporting

If you weren't able to attend Docket’s webinar “Docket® For Schools: Super Smart School Immunization Reporting,” the recording is now available in the AIRA Repository.

During this session, Docket demonstrated its School and Childcare Module for IIS and explored how it helps address common challenges related to school immunization reporting and compliance. The webinar covered provisioning access for school nurses, registrars, and other stakeholders; ensuring consistent reporting of student immunization compliance; identifying at-risk students and student cohorts; monitoring on-time report submissions; and navigating both HIPAA and FERPA.

In Case You Missed It: Patient Matching – Multiple Organization | A Town Hall Discovery Session, Now Available

On July 27, AIRA hosted a Discovery Session, “Patient Matching – Multiple Organization | A Town Hall.” This session explored the draft Patient Matching – Multiple Organization Measures and Tests as part of AIRA's Measurement and Improvement (M&I) initiative. AIRA staff presented the measurable concept of cross-organization patient matching, shared findings from IIS participation in M&I Testing and Discovery, reviewed the proposed methodology and measures, and encouraged community feedback on the draft document.

If you or a staff member missed the live event, don’t fret! The session recording and presentation slides are now available in the AIRA Repository.

IIS Technology Partner Product Testing & Validation – Resources Available

IIS jurisdictions are not the only ones who can participate in AIRA’s Measurement and Improvement program! Technology partners who have either modular or full IIS products can participate in an independent product testing to align their products with national functional standards.
