Prometheus Consent Forms Needed for Full NIST Transition

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Prometheus Computing, LLC are notifying jurisdictions of an upcoming transition affecting NIST Tooling. NIST's Health IT Program, which built, maintained, and hosted several immunization web application tools and services, is being sunset as part of an internal reorganization. These tools and services are migrating to Prometheus Computing, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and will continue to be supported through AIRA's CDC-funded cooperative agreement, pending notice of award.
Important Action Required
For a select number of tools, including IGAMT-2, TCAMT, and FITS, Prometheus Computing, needs your explicit consent before your user access and/or configuration data can be migrated. If consent isn't received by July 31, your user access and/or configuration data will not be transferred and will become inaccessible.
Timeline:
- June 24–July 31: Consent window open
- July 31: Consent deadline
- Mid-August: Migration to Prometheus Computing/AWS targeted for completion
Action Requested by NIST and Prometheus Computing:
- Review the notice with anyone in your jurisdiction who actively uses IGAMT-2, TCAMT, and/or FITS.
- Submit consent via the form(s) below before July 31.

Call for Participants: It's Not Too Late to Join the Patient Matching – Extract Pilot #3
|
AIRA has built the Patient Matching – Extract pilot to advance Measurement and Improvement (M&I) data quality activities across member jurisdictions. While traditional M&I patient matching evaluates real-time HL7 transactions using synthetic test records, the Extract method provides a complementary diagnostic view by analyzing production data for duplicate patient records.
What Your Jurisdiction Receives
- Actionable List of Possible Duplicates: A list of potential duplicate record pairs to review and merge, providing an immediate mechanism to resolve duplicate patient records
- Placeholder/Bad First Names Report: A compiled list of invalid entries or placeholder data within the first name field to implement targeted data quality corrections
- Invalid/Bad Phone Numbers Report: An isolated list of improperly formatted or “bad” phone numbers to quickly improve contact information integrity
Participation Expectations and Timeline
The pilot will run from July 13 through July 31. Participating jurisdictions are expected to complete the following activities during this period:
- Attend the project kick-off call
- Perform the production data extract, run the command line tool locally, and upload the resulting aggregate data to qDAR
- Office hours will be provided to assist with the extraction and tool execution process
- Manually review assigned duplicate pairs and provide finalized feedback templates to AIRA
- Attend the final pilot wrap-up call and complete a brief post-pilot evaluation questionnaire

Join AIRA for a Discovery Session: Patient Matching – Multiple Organization | A Town Hall

Another Measurement and Improvement (M&I) content area is on the move! Earlier this spring, many of you participated in moving Data at Rest (DAR) toward Validation. This summer, AIRA’s M&I initiative continues that momentum with an opportunity to explore the future of HL7 Patient Matching – Multiple Organization.
Accurate patient matching is essential for maintaining complete, reliable immunization records and supporting interoperability across organizations. During this interactive town hall on Monday, July 27 at 4 p.m. ET, AIRA staff members, Damon Ferlazzo and Eric Larson, will guide the IIS community through the draft Measures and Tests document.
What to Expect:
- Overview of M&I and the measurable concept of Patient Matching – Multiple Organization
- Findings and lessons learned from IIS participation in M&I Testing and Discovery
- Proposed methodology and measures to assess IIS alignment with the relevant functional standards

AIRA to Develop Supporting Data for Medical Society Vaccine Recommendations
|
With national medical societies expected to release recommendations for influenza, COVID-19, and RSV vaccines for the upcoming respiratory illness season, AIRA is actively preparing to support the IIS community.
Working in coordination with partners, AIRA will develop and publish Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Supporting Data that reflects the medical society recommendations for respiratory illness vaccines. This work is intended to help IIS programs, vendors, and other implementers efficiently apply the recommendations consistently across systems if they choose to adopt them.
The timing of Supporting Data publication will depend on when recommendations are finalized and released. Current expectations are that respiratory vaccine recommendations will begin being published in August, with additional recommendations released in September. AIRA plans to publish Supporting Data as quickly as possible following those releases.
